The Chosen One #13 (pt1)

So this time around it was a tie. I am going to feature both of the artist, but each on it's own. So here we go.

Our first winner (just because he replied to my note first, no other reason) is neverdying with this piece.


Q: What kind of studying did you do, formal or informal, do be able to create such amazing artworks?

A: I learned the basics of Photoshop and Illustrator in a graphic design course I took many years ago. But nothing to do with photo manipulation. This is something I learned on my own.

Q: What is your vision for your art? What do you want people to see in your work?

 A: I like that each viewer sees something different. I try to convey an emotion in most of my works. This can be sadness, fear or hope, for example.

Q: Have you been able to make a full time job out of it? If so, do you have any tips for the struggling artists trying to make it in the world of art and freelancing?

A:  Not from photo manipulation. This is something I do for fun mostly. Sure I do some freelance jobs, but my everyday job is graphic design for a publicity agency. Designing logos, posters, brochures, web design. The only tip I could think of is that you should use all the free ressources you can to promote your work. It's a lot easier to be seen now than it was yeas ago with sites like dA, Facebook, behance, Shadowness and other social platforms. I sure got more work nowadays with the help of such sites! And don't work for free, unless it's for a good cause!
